    • Dacia Duster priced from £11,745 OTR
    • Groupe Renault has reaffirmed the appeal of its vehicles to fleet and company car users after winning two categories at the BusinessCar Awards 2020.
  • Renault won the award for ‘Best Small Car’ with the Clio, whilst Dacia took home the title of ‘Best Value Car’ with the Duster.

In addition, Renault was also Highly Commended in the ‘Most Improved Manufacturer’ category, BusinessCar recognising how Renault UK had worked to help its fleet customers through the Coronavirus lockdown and introduce numerous initiatives during the past 12 months to make it easier for fleets to do business with.

The Clio won the fiercely contested ‘Best Small Car’ category after impressing BusinessCar’s judging panel of industry experts with its generous specification and attractive running costs. The judges said: “It might have a familiar look, but the latest Clio is entirely new. Its restructured range is simpler and the new model provides a more luxurious feel, with good equipment levels, while providing excellent value and low total cost of ownership.”

Introduced in 2019, the fifth-generation Clio raised the bar in the small car sector, setting new standards for quality, technology and practicality. Priced from £15,895 on the road, it has a much more premium feel than its predecessor, which has resulted from the inclusion of features usually reserved for larger and more expensive cars and the use of higher quality materials in the interior. This year’s addition of the E-TECH hybrid version has made the supermini even more appealing to business users.

  • On awarding the Duster the title of ‘Best Value Car’, the judges added: “The Dacia Duster looks great and the brand ticks a lot of boxes for public sector fleets. Available with four-wheel drive for those who need off-road ability, Dacia also added LPG-converted Bi-Fuel variants in 2020, offering potential for fleets to further reduce costs.”

The award is the latest in an extensive list of accolades for the Duster, the rugged SUV winning much acclaim due to its unrivalled blend of practicality, comfort, usability, standard equipment and attractive price. Its appeal is heightened through a wide range of trim levels – Access, Essential, Comfort, SE Twenty and Prestige – and a broad line-up of engines. Amongst the petrol and diesel options is the TCe 100 Bi-Fuel LPG option, which provides a combined range of over 620 miles and low CO2 emissions in LPG mode. The Duster costs from £11,745 on the road.

The annual BusinessCar Awards celebrate the fleets, suppliers and manufacturers that demonstrate outstanding customer service and innovative products. To be eligible for the monthly magazine and website’s awards, cars must have been available for delivery to fleet customers in the UK by 31st July, 2020. BusinessCar’s judging panel, consisting of well-known road testers, fleet managers and representatives from industry bodies, determine its winners by considering the total cost of ownership, fitness for purpose and driver appeal.

Mark Dickens, Fleet Director, Groupe Renault UK, said: “We’re delighted to accept these awards and they’re a perfect illustration of how suitable our vehicles are for business users. Our Highly Commended status in the ‘Most Improved Manufacturer’ category underlines how we strive to complement our broad range of cars and light commercial vehicles with an equally high level of service. Especially pleasing is that it recognises our efforts to help our customers literally keep moving during the pandemic.”
