Brake Fluid Change
A vital part of your car’s maintenance is to change your brake fluid to ensure safety of brake components. Most manufacturers recommend that you change your brake fluid every 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever is sooner. Our fully qualified technicians will drain the old fluid and then refill with new brake fluid to the correct specification. We will also safely dispose of the old fluid in an environmentally friendly way.
When you bring your car to Sutton Park Group for a brake fluid change we will also give your car a free brake inspection, to make sure that your cars brakes are in good working order.
When you bring your vehicle to Sutton Park Group, we will:
Brake fluid absorbs moisture over a period of time, resulting in a reduction in braking efficiency as the boiling point reduces due to the higher amount of water content in the brake fluid. This can also corrode your car’s brake lines, leading to expensive repair work as well as the possibility of loss of braking ability.
Water contamination increases the danger of brake failure as vapour pockets can form if the fluid gets to hot. The Vapour is compressible, so when the brakes are applied the pedal may go all the way to the floor without applying the brakes.
Moisture in the braking system will cause corrosion and pitting in the calliper pistons and bores, wheel cylinders, master cylinders, ABS modulators. (causing expenses repair bills). By replacing your fluid as recommended by the manufacturer it will extend the life of your braking system.
After 3 years of service, the average boiling point of brake fluid drops to a potentially dangerous level because of moisture contamination and may not meet minimum requirements.
