With a new platform, new opportunities are created
With the new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), we create new possibilities for you as a driver and for us as manufacturer. It improves performance, gives more freedom to our designers and allows for a more spacious cabin. It’s created to inspire all the senses while on the move.
The EV6 new electric-global modular platform (E-GMP) enables diverse number of interior layouts thanks to the flat floor. Despite the EV6’s compact exterior dimensions, its 2.9m wheelbase results in a cabin space similar to many mid to large SUVs. That means more interior room for you and your passengers to enjoy.
The market for zero-emission cars in the UK is accelerating quickly, with one in four UK households intending to buy an electric car in the next five years according to research by the energy watchdog Ofgem, as a ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles in 2030 approaches.
For all foward thinking drivers its time to make the switch to electric.
KIA EVs REIGN VICTORIOUS AT AUTO TRADER NEW CAR AWARDS 2023
Kia’s EV range has once again flexed its muscles at the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2023, bringing home two hard-fought accolades, including the award for overall ‘New Car of the Year’. The Kia Soul EV collected the award for ‘Best Value Electric Car’, while the ever-popular EV6 took home the title of Auto Trader’s ‘New Car of the Year’.
The Auto Trader New Car Awards are different from other car awards as the winners are not decided on by the opinions of industry insiders, but by the people whose opinion matters most: car owners. This year, over 220,000 UK car owners completed an online survey sharing exactly what they think of their car, with their thoughts and opinions (obtained from real-world experience) determining the winners of 20 of this year’s 23 award categories, including both of Kia’s award wins.
The Kia EV6 has continually impressed owners and reviewers alike since its launch in 2021 as it spearheaded the brand’s ‘Plan S’ strategy and new branding at the time. Offering striking and modern looks inspired by Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design strategy, a real world range of up-to 328 miles on a single charge, ultra-fast charging capabilities and a comprehensive list of trim levels, the EV6 has scooped a multitude of awards in its relatively short lifespan, and continues to make an impact and transform perceptions of Kia.
Erin Baker, Auto Trader’s Editorial Director, said: “The Kia EV6 is hugely deserving of this year’s New Car of the Year, impressing both consumers and the industry alike. It took the market by storm when it was launched, with an innovative design, great range, incredible interior space, tonnes of features and fantastic peace of mind for owners thanks to outstanding brand reliability. As one happy EV6 owner so aptly summed it up: “It’s the best all-round car: the combination of technology, range, quality, charging speed and drive of the car makes it the most satisfyingly complete car. It’s not just a brilliant electric car, it’s just a brilliant car, full stop.” I couldn’t agree more.”
Kia EV6 named 2022 Car of the Year
The Kia EV6 has been named the 2022 Car of the Year in the prestigious Car of the Year (COTY) awards. The innovative all-electric crossover was voted the overall winner by a 59-strong jury consisting of highly respected motoring journalists from 22 European countries.
The Kia EV6 was initially listed for consideration for the top award alongside over sixty models that launched during 2021. In November, the COTY jury cut this long list down to a seven-strong shortlist, six of which were electric vehicles (EVs), further demonstrating the growing importance of electric vehicles to consumers.
The Kia EV6 received a total of 279 points to claim victory and be crowned 2022 Car of the Year, followed by the Renault Mégane E-Tech (265 points), Hyundai IONIQ 5 (261 points), Peugeot 308 (191 points), Škoda Enyaq iV (185 points), Ford Mustang Mach-E (150 points) and Cupra Born (144 points).
Kia EV6 wins ‘Car of the Year’ at 2022 What Car? Car of the Year Awards
he Kia EV6 has won the overall ‘Car of the Year’ award at the prestigious 2022 What Car? Awards, alongside being named ‘Electric SUV of the Year’. This historic win for Kia’s latest electric vehicle marks only the second time that an EV has won What Car?’s ‘Car of the Year’ crown after the Kia e-Niro in 2019. The Kia Sorento also won the ‘Tow Car Award’.
The judging panel for the What Car? Car of the Year Awards, made up of the magazine’s team of expert road testers, commented: “The EV6 combines a huge real-world range with the ability to charge at speeds that no rival can keep up with, addressing two of the biggest concerns that people still have about electric cars. What’s more, by using bespoke electric underpinnings rather than a set that’s shared by petrol and diesel models, Kia has been able to take advantage of the compact size of electric motors and produce a car that’s hugely spacious and practical.
“Add in effortless performance, outstanding refinement, competitive pricing and one of the best warranties around, and the striking EV6 doesn’t just look like the future - it feels like it too.”
What Car? names Kia EV6 ‘Best Electric Large SUV’
The Kia EV6 was named ‘Best Electric Large SUV’ by the influential publication, while the Soul EV won the ‘Best Electric Small SUV’ award. This continues the EV6’s winning streak, following its ‘Car of the Year’ award from What Car? at the start of 2022. It was also awarded with the 2022 European Car of the Year trophy earlier this year.
The judging panel for the What Car? Electric Car Awards, made up of the magazine’s team of expert road testers, said the following about the EV6 to accompany its latest award: “Even in a year that has seen formidable new rivals launched in the UK, the EV6 has remained steadfast as our favourite large electric SUV, in part because of its ability to go a really long way between charges. The EV6 is a good choice if you actively enjoy driving too, and its smart, high-tech interior wouldn’t look out of place in a much more expensive car.”
Kia UK Limited has picked up two category wins at the annual What Car? Electric Car Awards, with an award each for the Kia EV6 and the e-Niro.
The EV6 has won the ‘Readers’ choice’ award, a category in which the EV6 was voted the most exciting and highly anticipated upcoming EV by readers of What Car? magazine. The e-Niro earned the title of ‘Best electric small SUV’ for the second year running.
The awards demonstrate the changing landscape of the UK car market and recognise the best EVs on sale today.
The EV6 caught the eye of the public, with the What Car? judges saying: “This strikingly styled new model has captured the imagination of What Car? readers. It beat seven other contenders to win our online poll looking for the upcoming electric car that people are most excited about.” The judges also praised the flagship EV for its abundance of standard equipment, incredible charging capability, and customisable, personal interior.

1 In order to achieve the maximum charging speed, EV6 must use an 800 volt electric vehicle charger that delivers at least 240kW of electricity. Actual charging speed & charging time may be influenced by the battery temperature and exterior weather conditions.
2 The range was determined according to the standardised EU measurement procedure (WLTP) based on 77.4kWh battery pack, rear wheel drive, and 19” wheels (pictured vehicle features 20” wheels). The individual driving style and other factors, such as speed, outside temperature, topography and the use of electricity-consuming devices/units, have an influence on the real life range and can possibly reduce it.
