The All-New Clio is the latest model of the best-selling French car ever and features the latest technological innovations and iconic style that have marked out its ultra-successful predecessors over the past three decades.
Rob Gill, Motors Editor at The Sun, said: “Almost 30 years on, the Clio has matured like a fine wine in a French chateau and is the obvious choice for The Sun’s Legend Award. This fifth-gen version has the plushest cabin in any new car under £17,000.”
The Motor Awards, organised by News UK, the publishers of The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times, gave the chance for the readers to vote for their favourite new cars alongside experts in the motoring industry.
Vincent Tourette, Managing Director, Groupe Renault UK & Ireland, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to celebrate the first UK award win for the All-New Clio, particularly as this was voted for by the public as well as industry experts. The All-New Clio marks a major step change in the interior style and quality of the Renault range whilst retaining the exterior design that made its predecessor the most popular car in its class in Europe. The Clio has always held a special place with UK car buyers and it’s wonderful to see the car recognised in these awards.”
Following Renault’s simple ‘EasyLife’ model strategy, the All-New Clio is available in popular Play and Iconic trim levels, as well as new S Edition and R.S. Line versions and has just gone on sale in the UK, starting at £14,295.
Setting new standards for quality, technology and practicality one of the highlights of the interior is the option of the new, larger 9.3-inch EASY LINK infotainment screen and a 10-inch TFT instrument cluster - features normally reserved for larger and more expensive cars. From the outset the designers wanted to give the All-New Clio a true premium feel, with soft touch plastics, satin finish metal trim and new, more enveloping seats all helping push the car upmarket. With careful attention paid to ergonomics, the All-New Clio is the most comfortable and refined version yet.
