Both of Kia’s all-electric models have picked up awards this week thanks to their impressive electric ranges, unique styling and helpful packaging.

The first award was for the Kia e-Niro which picked up Best Electric Car at this year’s Carbuyer awards. The e-Niro is capable of 282 miles from one charge and when you do need to recharge, it can be back up to 80 per cent battery life in just 54 minutes.

James Batchelor, Editor-at-Large and Head of Motoring Video for Carbuyer said: "Kia is one of the leading lights in electric vehicles, and its e-Niro has proved truly impressive. Its 282-mile range is well ahead of most rivals, it's easy to drive and dressed in a smart crossover suit - the e-Niro is desirable too. Boxy proportions mean there's also a sizeable boot, making it the ideal EV for families."

Before the Soul EV lands in UK showrooms in Spring next year, it is already attracting a lot of attention. The second generation Soul EV has a range of 280 miles paired with distinctive styling and features technology like UVO CONNECT 'connected car' telematics system and Forward Collision Warning with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist as standard.

Vicky Parrott, Associate editor at Driving Electric said: "The Kia Soul EV takes all the great technology that powers our 2019 Car of the Year – the Kia e-Niro – and packs it into a more stylish and eye-catching body. It's a little less practical, yes, but it's perhaps an even more appealing package overall, with loads of great high-tech equipment thrown in as standard and the same impressive performance on the road."

Both the Soul EV and the refreshed e-Niro for 2020 are on-sale now. Deliveries of the Soul EV will begin in April, with the existing 3,000 waiting list of e-Niro expected to be cleared in the first six months of the year.

Paul Philpott, President and CEO for Kia Motors (UK) Limited, commented on both wins, saying: “We are delighted that both of our all-electric cars have been recognised by two respected publications. Both vehicles offer brilliant range and excellent levels of specification at a very competitive price point. The demand for our EVs last year was significant and I’m thrilled to say we, and our dealer network, can satisfy that demand now, with an updated and improved e-Niro and all-new Soul EV.”
