Applicable to the full range of Renault cars, the scrappage scheme means customers can save £9,500 off the list price of a new all-electric Renault ZOE when the existing government plug-in car grant of £4,500 is combined with a potential scrappage saving of £5,000. That brings the cost of a brand new Renault ZOE down to £13,420 including the plug-in car grant and a £5,000 scrappage allowance.

Any car or light commercial vehicle, from any manufacturer, registered before 31 December 2011 is eligible for Renault’s relaunched scrappage scheme as long as it’s been registered to the owner for at least 90 days. These savings can then be put towards any of Renault’s wide range of cars.

Starting from £18,420 RRP including the plug-in car grant, the Renault ZOE has recently been updated with the new R110 motor that brings more power to the car. This gives improved performance, particularly under acceleration, with a realistic range of 186 miles. The ZOE was the best selling electric car in Europe last year and now includes Android Auto as well as a seven-inch colour touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity. Retail customers will also receive a free wallbox so they can easily charge their ZOE at home, and this applies whether they purchase through the scrappage scheme or not.

Renault’s Twingo, Clio and Mégane are also eligible for savings through the Renault scrappage scheme, as are the stylish Scénic and Grand Scénic family favourites.

Like the Mégane and Captur, the Renault Clio range was recently revised to make it simple for customers to choose the Clio that suits them best. There are just three models in the range, starting with the Clio Play (from £13,500 RRP). With 16-inch black and silver alloy wheels and front fog lights, it’s an attractive car that’s also full of technology with driver-friendly features such as a hands free keycard with keyless entry, and cruise control. In the middle of the range is the Clio Iconic (from £14,700 RRP). Infotainment takes a step forward in this model, with a seven-inch touchscreen multimedia system with satellite navigation as well as other user-friendly features such as rear parking sensors. At the top of the Clio range is the sporty GT Line (from £16,250 RRP) that is equipped with a rear spoiler, unique front and rear bumper designs, and full LED headlights.

Renault’s comprehensive SUV range is also included in the scrappage scheme. The Captur features a wide range of customisable features such as two-tone paint, as well as automatic lights and wipers. Moving up a segment, every Kadjar is fitted with high tech features such as cruise control, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors and LED daytime running lights. Renault’s largest SUV model is the Koleos, which has an extensive list of standard equipment including a seven-inch colour touchscreen, a rear parking camera and a panoramic sunroof.

The Renault scrappage scheme is active now and runs until 7 January 2019. The customer’s new Renault must be registered by 31 March 2019. The scrappage scheme is not compatible with any other finance or cash offers but can be used in conjunction with Renault’s £500 test drive offer. The scrapped car will be permanently taken off the road.
